CRLA staff and HUD Asst. Secretary Mercedes Marquez drove through Mecca and around Western Environmental (by circling the Cabazon land on which it is situated). All present were affected by the strong petroleum-like odor and a few noted that they could sense the smell / pollution in their mouths.
