Abandoned Dump Site

Pueblo Unido CDC a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization is providing organizing and technical support to the Pierce Community Infrastructure a committed formed by community leaders in Thermal, California. The committee is interested in neighborhood revitalization and improvement of living conditions. One of the top priorities for the committee is addressing their concern about the abandoned dump site located east of Pierce Street and south of Avenue 69. According with the residents, unknown fumes and odors are still present in the vicinity. The dump was closed for its illegal activities about five years ago. No mitigation plan has ever been a priority by local and federal authorities constituting a major environmental health issue for the neighborhood.
