Drainage/Waste Water backflow at St. Anthony
Location: St. Anthony Mobile Home Park 67075 HWY 111 Mecca, CA 92254
Description
On March 30, 2012, waste water started backflowing from unit #97 in the afternoon, continuously spilling water up until Sunday, being Saturday the day that was most visible. No reparation was made until Sunday, when the water service was cut without previous notice to us. Now water is not that visible, but the lime powder on the ground and the signs of the extension of the water spillage could still be seen. We did not had a camera at hand to record the spillage, but it can be seen in the pictures that it was a big one. It is not the first time it happens (in the same unit).

Regional Board staff visited St Anthony's on 4/6/12 investigating this report and determined that this incident was due to clogs in the waste water collection system.
Park management reported that a plastic bottle and work gloves were removed from a collection system pipe, and had been found to be causing this obstruction.
Residents will receive instructions from park management about what not to flush down toilets to avoid future problems.
