Description
Sewage drainage problems and insect contamination at mobile home park. Trash also buried on site at the park. Exposed electrical wiring also a problem. Tenants are threatened to be evicted if they complain about the problems, despite paying high rents to live at the location.

Riverside County DEH is actively investigating this issue. Septic tank issues may include exceeding per capita limits for tank capacity. Irrigation canal will also be examined.
Needs: Vector Control officials (Coachella Valley Mosquito Abatement District) to address insect problems. Buried garbage incident to be assigned to Riv Co DEH Solid Waste Section. -

Dirt roads at mobile home park are also problematic, along with electrical issues. Electrical set-up is a fire hazard. Possible extortion issue.

Also need to consider the outcomes that follow-up actions may have on residents.

Need to develop an action plan in the event of electricity outages so residents have long-term housing while the problems are fixed.

Imperial Irrigation District is power agency for this area. Public benefit funds may be available to provide the park owner with funds to fix the electricity shortages.
